There are many reasons why wearing a HRM can benefit your workout and set you up for success! Here are the top three reasons why you should train with one:
- You’ll train SMARTER. By wearing a HRM, you will learn our three zones- Zone 1 for recovery and sustainability, Zone 2 for fat burning and pushing your edge, and Zone 3 for going FULL OUT and emptying your bucket on purpose! These three zones help you keep your heart rate where you need it to be, so you can achieve the real results you’re working for. Each zone is important for total body health, and serves a different purpose in your fitness journey.
- You’ll learn about your body. Wearing a HRM allows you to see the percentage of your maximum heart rate (V02Max) at which you’re working. Sometimes we think we’re working harder than we actually are, and sometimes we don’t realize how much we’re pushing, which can lead to injury and overtraining. By keeping an eye on your heart rate, you’ll be able to master your training sessions by staying in the appropriate zones, and get your results faster and more efficiently.
- Wearing a heart rate monitor is motivating! Let’s face it- we all have a little competitive edge. Whether you’re trying to increase your calorie burn or challenging yourself to spend more time in Zone 3 than the last time you did a certain workout, your HRM will show your hard work in numbers, based on your body and real time data! That can be motivation enough to stay in the growth zone a little longer!
