Add Energy to Where You Work Out

Add Energy to Where You Work Out

Getting started on a workout plan provides a burst of energy that carries you through the first week or so. After that, you’ll need to fuel your motivation by ramping up the creative energy in the part of your home where you work out.

Our best tip to transform your workout area into a favorite place is to add plants.

Plants?

That’s right. Those leafy things that don’t talk back. Plants may not seem likely to help get you jazzed about working out. But by helping to create a welcoming workout space, plants call you to the front lines of the battle for your best body.

Mother Nature knows best, and even NASA admits it. The country’s space agency proved plants remove toxins and chemicals from the air, making it cleaner and healthier. Other studies show indoor plants offer exceptional health benefits like calming frayed nerves, dropping blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, promoting healing, and generally helping you live longer.

Wherever you workout at home, enlist nature’s help to create an environment to get a cleaner, leaner life going.

Living Room Workout: Spider Plants

Like Spiderman, spider plants make the world better. Their leaves absorb carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless toxic gas that can cause headaches, weakness, exhaustion, and, in sufficient quantities, death. These botanical spiders, with their long, strappy green and white “legs,” are among the easiest, most attractive and most useful plants to occupy a corner in your living.

Home Office Workout: Dragon Trees

There is no guarantee dragon trees will fire up your workout, but hold onto that thought. It takes a daring spirit to keep that workout smoking day after day, so upping the dragon energy in your workout space can’t hurt.

Dragon trees (Dracaena marginata) are feisty plants that are well suited to a home office. The stiff, sword-like green leaves pull toxins from the air, most particularly benzene, found in greater amounts in areas where books and printed papers can be found. These tough, handsome plants eat neglect for breakfast and prove excellent companions for the long-haul.

Family Room Workout: Snake Plant

A snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata), with its tall, green, sharp-edged leaf tongues is also known as mother-in-law’s tongue. It’s an exceptional addition to a workout area with a fireplace or natural gas stove since it cleans the air by removing formaldehyde and nitrogen oxide, produced by gas stoves, kerosene heaters, and wood-burning chimneys.

Motivational Workout

All the plants in the world won’t help if your workout isn’t giving your body the best time of its life. Get inspired by checking out MXYfitness, the most complete, personalized and motivating program ever developed.
