Everyone has their workout jam, what’s yours?
Aries
Sorry Not Sorry - Demi Lovato
If you’re working out with an Aries, good luck trying to get to the weights first. Aries are known to be head-strong, bold, and confident. Not only will they beat you to the rack, but they’ll definitely out-rep you too.
For this reason, the go-to pump up song for Aries is Sorry Not Sorry, by Demi Lovato. Listen, an Aries can’t help that they’re “out here looking like revenge, feeling like a ten.” It’s the nature of the (workout) beast!
Taurus
Telephone - Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé
We all have that one friend who, for better or for worse, cannot let it go. Even with all their good intentions, a Taurus is perhaps the most stubborn sign of the lot! If a Taurus decides that they’re doing arms on leg day, they’re doing arms on leg day.
Without a doubt, Telephone by Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé is the ideal workout tune for a Taurus. You would have to be out of your mind to cancel plans on a Taurus, but if you do, you certainly won’t be able to reach them on their telephone.
Gemini
Circles - Post Malone
Whatever you do, do not ask a Gemini what workout they want to do, unless you’re looking to exercise your patience. However outgoing they may be, a Gemini may get stuck by their indecisiveness. You could say that they often find themselves going in circles.
There is no better way for a Gemini to sweat out their indecisiveness than listening to Circles by Post Malone. When they hear the lyrics, "make up your mind, tell me, what are you gonna do?” maybe they will finally decide on cycling or stretching.
Cancer
Sorry - Justin Bieber
Have you ever heard of people getting emotional during a workout? Yeah, that was probably a Cancer. Cancer’s wear their heart on their sleeve, and aren’t ashamed of it! Therefore, the best way to get a cancer’s blood pumping is to tug on their heart strings a little bit.
Nothing gets a Cancer’s body and mind in motion like the song Sorry by Justin Bieber. This emotional plea mixed with it’s repetitive beat will motivate a Cancer to get their head in the game (and their heart too).
Leo
Walk It Like I Talk It - Migos featuring Drake
No one owns being a leader quite like a Leo. Leo’s are regal, energetic, and passionate people. When they get their sweat on, they really commit to it. Not only are they working out for themselves, but they’re organizing a workout for their friends too (and leading it, obviously).
There’s no better way for a Leo to pump some iron than listening to Walk Like I Talk It by Migos featuring Drake. This song is a testament to their sign, and will remind them that nobody can achieve what a Leo can. In other words, walk it like they talk it!
Virgo
Happy Now - Kygo featuring Sandro Cavazza
There’s no one you can depend on more than a Virgo. With their reliable yet analytical personality, a Virgo will be the one to tell you that you shouldn’t do more than five kettlebell swings at a time, even if you think you’re ready.
For Virgos, nothing makes more sense than sense itself. Naturally, their pump up song makes sense too. Unlike a Cancer, a Virgo will sweat it out to Happy Now, by Kygo featuring Sandro Cavazza, feeling relieved knowing “that it was good but wasn’t right.”
Libra
That’s What I Like - Bruno Mars
In life, you’ll never meet a Libra that you won’t like. Libras are peaceful and diplomatic in nature, and tend to enjoy ~the finer things~ in life. Libras are the kind of people who will set aside any amount time to listen to you moan and groan about those squats you did last night. They’ll just do it while scrolling through the latest Athleta clothing campaign.
Libras know what they like and what they don’t like. Hence why their song is That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars. Nothing puts a spring in a Libra’s step like the prospect of strawberry champagne on ice. Or trips to Puerto Rico. Watch out, this song just might inspire a Libra to run right on over to the airport to catch the next flight!
Scorpio
Moment 4 Life - Nicki Minaj
When it comes to working out, Scorpios bring the intensity. As a matter of fact, they are the intensity. If you’re struggling to nail down a solid workout routine, just ask your neighborhood Scorpio. With their persistence and strategic outlook on things, they’ll come up with something that will knock your socks off.
It’s only fitting that a Scorpio would listen to rap titan, Nicki Minaj. More specifically, that a Scorpio would rock out to Moment 4 Life while muscling through their final set of push ups. This song highlights that it’s a Scorpio’s world, and the rest of us are just living in it!
Sagittarius
Truth Hurts - Lizzo
Has anyone ever tapped you on the shoulder to tell you that your yoga form is off? It was likely a Sagittarius. Leave it to a Sag to (politely) tell you what you should with your arms in that pose. However, don’t let a Sag’s blunt honesty overshadow their sense of adventure. A Sag will begin the workout lifting weights, and end up hiking trails somewhere in the great outdoors.
Nothing gets a Sag sweating like Lizzo’s iconic song, Truth Hurts. A tribute to prioritizing your independence, a Sag will surely push the extra mile upon hearing “truth hurts, needed something more exciting.”
Capricorn
7 Rings - Ariana Grande
You know those people who wake up at 5 am every morning for a workout? That’s a typical Capricorn! Once a Capricorn has committed to something, they won’t give it up. It is a Capricorn’s discipline and organizational skill set that makes you think twice about your own work/life balance.
Like I said, once a Capricorn commits to something, they’ll get it done. I suppose you could say, if “[they] want it, [they] got it.” For this reason, 7 Rings is the perfect song to get a Capricorn in the zone.
Aquarius
The Show Goes On - Lupe Fiasco
You can always count on an Aquarius to bring an extra water for you to refuel after a workout. Although an Aquarius might come across as assertive, they’re considered to be the most humanitarian among the signs.
As a people person, an Aquarius will wait for you to catch up in the run (even if they’re way faster than you are). It’s only natural that The Show Goes On by Lupe Fiasco is what will inspire an Aquarius to get exercising! This hip-hop anthem of togetherness will get an Aquarius moving, and even more motivated to help others after their workout!
Pisces
Rockabye - Clean Bandit featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie
If you ever were to accidentally drop a weight on someone, you better hope that person is a Pisces. Not only are Pisces empathetic, but they’re imaginative too. A Pisces is someone who will put both friendliness and the fun into fitness!
There’s no better song that will make a Pisces want to exercise more than Rockabye by Clean Bandit. This ode to a mother’s love for her child will definitely hit a Pisces right in the soft spot (in a good way).
