Have you heard about Peak Performance? We’re excited about this six-week cross-training program available on the MYXfitness app. We created Peak Performance to help you build power, strength, and mobility over a six-week period, no matter where you are in your fitness journey. The program features two coaches per workout, one to coach and one to demonstrate. There’s a before and after assessment so you can track your progress. We released Peak Performance in January, and so far, we’re blown away by your results. We chatted with MYX members Mattie, Charlie, and Jessica to learn more about their experiences before and after completing Peak Performance.
Before: In early 2020, I had a hip replacement surgery. I lost a lot of mobility — getting socks on was a challenge. I got a MYX bike to help me incorporate low-impact exercises into my recovery. I started working out regularly on the bike and loved MYXing it up! Peak Performance felt like the next step and a great way to get my mobility back on track.
After: I saw major improvement in my mobility with Peak Performance. This program was perfect for me because my strength had also deteriorated. I feel much stronger now. I was even able to hit heart rate zone three while doing low-impact workouts.
Before: Before MYX, I did a lot of boot camps, cardio, and weightlifting. The problem was, I often got too competitive with myself and easily felt burned out. In the fall, I got my bike because I wanted to keep up with my cardio without falling into that overly-competitive trap. I ordered my kettlebells and decided to give Peak Performance a go since I hadn’t tried any off-the-bike MYX workouts yet.
After: I was never bored with Peak Performance. With circuit training and cross-training, my workouts were always fresh and new. They felt much shorter than forty-five minutes. With the kettlebells, I felt like I worked some muscles for the very first time. I also loved the camaraderie within the MYXfitness and Peak Performance Facebook groups. It was so fun to cheer each other on and build those connections.
Before: After my MYX bike arrived last October, five friends came to my house and tried it out. They liked it so much that they each purchased their own! We thought it would be fun to do Peak Performance together. Going into the program, my goal was to build strength— I could only do one push-up at a time.
After: We had a blast sharing our progress and results. I felt my body getting stronger. I gained muscle mass, and my form improved for movements like burpees and Turkish Get-ups. I also learned more about my muscles, like how Peak Performance plays into our muscle memory. And by the way, I can now do seven push-ups!
